Neak Pean

Neak Pean is an unusual temple compared to the rest of the Angkor temples. As you can see by the picture below, the temple is four ponds arranged around a central pond. A sanctuary tower was erected on a circular island in the center pond.




The next two pictures show the Statue of the horse Balaha. Depending on the height of the water you can sometimes see the seafaring merchants grasping hold on his flanks and tail.
